Is Wordle Solver really free?
Yes, 100% free! No account required, no premium tier, no hidden fees. All features including the solver engine, word lists, daily hints, and strategy guides are available to everyone at no cost.
How does the solver calculate the best guess?
Our solver uses a Hybrid Entropy Engine based on Claude Shannon's information theory. For each possible guess, it calculates how many bits of information that guess would reveal on average. The guess that maximizes information gain is ranked highest. Learn more on our About page.
Why doesn't the solver guess the correct word immediately?
The solver prioritizes information gain over guessing the answer. Sometimes, the best strategic move is to guess a word that isn't the answer but eliminates the most possibilities. This approach results in a lower average guess count (3.3) than always guessing potential answers.
